    Description

It is very important that the center link /drag link be parallel with the lower arm bolts in order to control bump steer.Bump steer is measured with the wheels straight ahead . If the center link is not parallel with the lower A Arm bolts when the wheels are turned one side of the center link goes uphill and the other down hill causing a great amount of bump steer.
If you car has been hit in the front. Or if you suspect it has been . Or if you want to check your chassis builder. It is a good idea to check the center link.

1 remove both inner tie rods
    2
Insert tool on one side of the center link and move relay rod so pointer is directly above a arm bolt you are measuring.
    3
Extend pointer out and measure the distance from the center line of the a arm bolt to the pointer.
    4
Repeat on the other side. Then subtract the difference and that will tell how much the relay rod if off.
    5
    Mark the cross-member with the
tool and center punch the cross-member at the mark . Then you will not have to use the caliper to measure. See picture.
6 I like to center drill the lower a arm bolts to get an accurate measurement.
heights. Wehrs makes a bolt that has a pointed end. Or turn the head of the  a arms bolts so that one of the flat sides is at top. Also helps for setting ride
