This listing is for
ONE
serialized number tag. The tag measures 1" by 3.75" and the area that can be engraved will hold up to 14 1/4" tall characters. The two holes punched are on 3.5" center to center. The tags are anodized aluminum.
Hull Identification Number Plates normally have 12 digits of serial number under Federal Law. You can add special characters such as "US" in front of your tag. Please note there are HIN tags for sale out there that do not permanently engrave the number down into the metal of the tag.
Printed or Laser engraved tags usually do not meet the requirements for a legal HIN tag under Federal Law. Please double check what you are purchasing to make sure your tag meets or exceeds all requirements. We are a direct manufacturer of HIN Tags to several watercraft manufacturers and our tags meet all coast guard regulations.
Older and some custom watercraft do not require 12 digits so if you have one please feel free to place an order as we will engrave those as well.
Our tags will pass the pencil trace test that is required by some states.
Our tags are manufactured directly by us. We use top of the line machinery to produce these tags for business and industrial customers and the serial number is produced with computer controlled machinery that cuts down into the tag making the number a permanent part of the tag. Others who offer a printer or laser produced number will fade as they are on the surface of the tag instead of cut down into the metal. Our numbers come out in a straight line as well as we do not use hand stamping that can cause defects.
Please be sure to add a note to your order or message us the number you would like engraved into your tag. Your order cannot be completed without this information. If you do not provide us information to engrave into the tag within a few days of the initial order we may cancel your order. We will message you after your order requesting this information if we do not receive it with your order.
