Canal Zone 31, full sheet of 100 on cardboard, includes C/Z, Scott 5
This is a rarely seen full sheet of 100 of Canal Zone 31, the 1c Type 1 overprint of 1909, including full selvage and margin markings, mounted on a 11 ½ x 15 inch sheet of cardboard (mostly stuck down, with the lower corners free). Mostly F/VF -- centered to top so around 28 stamps at left have perfs cut at top. Includes C of Canal over Z of Zone variety in position #87 (shown), which was issued only in a few sheets. In very nice condition; cardboard has no creases, though there is light corner wear. A tiny holes on the edge of the sheet (not affecting the sheet) that makes me think it may have been hung in display. Unusual and quite a display item. Scott catalog 5, a great and unique addition to a CZ collection. Provenance: ex-Conroy
