Former owner has his name stamp on endpapers, title page, page edges. Lee Hall (1849-1911) was a lawman in several Texas communities, served as a Texas Ranger for several years, cattle rancher, Indian agent in Anadarkos, Indian Territory, and served in the Spanish-American War. He was a character in several O.Henry stories, had numerous run-ins with some notorious bandits, accused of crimes and combated cattle rustlers. An interesting character in Texas history.
