Exterior VG with a few spots to front and rear covers (see photos), contents in Fine condition, binding sound and tight.
An important, scholarly work, this beautifully produced biblio-cartography of the Gold Rush decade is one of the most sought after publications of the Grabhorn Press, and was selected as "One of the Fifty Books of the Year" [GB #368]. Details of 323 maps are given, with the entries arranged chronologically - the first section deals with Background Maps (dated prior to 1848), then annually from 1848 to 1856, and then a final section on The Maps of 1857 and later.
